It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of this beautiful, talented and fearless lady.
R.I.P. Amanda Hallay, May 22, 1965 - January 25, 2023
I've just received this amazing package from Disney as a tribute to Amanda - and this is the beautiful letter that accompanied it from Michael at Disney Animation:
Greetings Pierre -
In honor of the great influence Amanda had on our production of WISH, I want to present you with a pin from our Animation Studio, which designates Amanda as an honorary member of our animation team.
Only full-time employees are eligible to receive this name tag, and we had to pull some strings to make this happen, but because of Amanda's great contribution to WISH regarding costume, culture and architecture, we made it happen. It's our way of paying tribute to this amazing woman, who gave us endless inspiration.
The icons above Amanda's name symbolize the animation building we work in, with the Sorcerer's hat symbolizing invention, inspiration, and creativity - attributes Amanda possessed in abundance.
We at Disney Animation hope this will always remind you of the impact Amanda had on us all, both creatively and (especially for me) personally. Amanda will always be in my heart.
Much Love,
Michael
